General Grant Information
After you have evaluated this information, you may submit your
application within our time deadlines if you determine that you fit within
the guidelines of the foundation, and the commencement of your project
meets our funding time periods. The foundation does not undertake the
responsibility to return application materials unless a self-addressed,
stamped envelope is provided.
The Wilbur Foundation concentrates
its funding in the field of humanities, especially history, literature,
religion, and philosophy, for projects that are calculated to enhance or
preserve the "permanent things" of society. Specifically, the foundation
considers grants for the following purposes:
• Support is given
only through tax-exempt public foundations that reflect a concern for
historical continuity and studies of a traditional nature.
•
Resident fellowships at The Russell Kirk Center in Mecosta, Michigan,
where writers of promise live, work and write. The director of the Wilbur
Fellows Program, with the approval of the trustees, chooses
fellows.
• Except for resident fellowships, no grants are made to
individuals, and the foundation does not consider grants for general
building purposes.
